Lunar Outpost joins WEF's elite global cohort to shape the future of space, with more rovers headed to the Moon than any other private company

GOLDEN, Colo., June 10, 2026 -- Lunar Outpost, the leader in space mobility and infrastructure, has been named a 2026 Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum and joins the Forum’s Center for Frontier Technologies & Innovation as part of its Future of Space community.

The recognition comes amid rapid business momentum and growth for the company. In May 2026, NASA selected the company's Pegasus Lunar Terrain Vehicle (LTV) as a next-generation crewed vehicle to support Artemis Astronauts operating at the Moon's South Pole. Weeks before, the company closed an oversubscribed $30M Series B round. Over the past 12 months, Lunar Outpost has added four new contracted lunar and cislunar missions to its growing portfolio. These include TACOS, MARS-1, and Lunar Voyage 5 (LV5). The company now has nine fully contracted lunar and cislunar missions launching before 2030.

“We’re honored to be named a World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer and join a community that will help define the next era of space,” said Justin Cyrus, CEO and Founder of Lunar Outpost. “The space economy is moving from vision to execution, and Lunar Outpost is focused on delivering the technologies that will enable people to work and live beyond Earth. From the first commercial rover on the Moon to Pegasus for the Artemis campaign, we’re proving that the future of space will be built by companies that innovate and deliver.”

The Moon presents one of the most unforgiving environments humans have ever attempted to operate in, with temperature swings ranging from -203° to +200°C, pervasive lunar dust, intense radiation, no existing infrastructure, and little margin for error. Lunar Outpost builds the systems needed to operate in those extreme conditions, spanning mobility, infrastructure, and robotics, all designed specifically for the lunar surface. From exploration rovers and crewed terrain vehicles to power, communications, and resource utilization technologies, the company's work enables sustained operations beyond Earth. Lunar Outpost has secured more lunar rover missions than any other company and has established a track record of executing complex programs on accelerated timelines. As governments and commercial organizations alike now accelerate plans for a permanent presence on the Moon, Lunar Outpost is engineering the foundation for long-term human activity beyond Earth.

World Economic Forum Technology Pioneers are selected based on their potential to shape business and society through breakthrough innovation. This year’s cohort brings together 100 early-stage start-ups from 23 countries working across AI, energy, health, manufacturing, space, and the bioeconomy to tackle some of the world’s most urgent and complex challenges.
